There are eight booklets in the Gender and Development Training manual. They provide the background and development of the project; training designs for various participants; session plans and handouts; and insights from the field. They are organized so that only the booklets needed can be taken out for any particular purpose. Each booklet is short enough to make copying of pages manageable. The booklets are numbered so that they can be returned for future use.

The Life Skills program is a comprehensive behavior change approach that concentrates on the development of the skills needed for life such as communication, decision–making, thinking, managing emotions, assertiveness, self– esteem building, resisting peer pressure, and relationship skills.

This Idea book concentrates on activities and strategies that increase girls’ access to and participation in quality in-school education. Volunteers are perceived as role models, technical specialists, teachers, coun- selors, heroes and friends. This book shares specific ideas and frameworks for transferring that potential for positive guidance into classrooms and communities around the world.

The purpose of the Sustainable Library Development Training Package is to support and provide guidance to Peace Corps Volunteers engaged in library projects as both primary work assignments and secondary project activities.

There are three manuals in the Youth Livelihoods series: Employability, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurship. All three of these courses are designed to be delivered by Peace Corps Volunteers and their counterparts worldwide who are helping young people develop knowledge, skills, and aptitudes for improving their financial literacy, their employability, and their economic independence.

Camp GLOW has become one of the most common and recognizable Peace Corps activities throughout the world. Such camps explore many different themes, with leadership camps being the most popular. Thousands of young girls have bettered themselves and their communities through these camps. As with anything good, the model has continued to grow, adapt, and change depending on the place, the context, and the young people involved. Part 5 of this manual includes a complete Camp GLOW model.

This manual is intended to complement knowledge, intuition, and good intentions in your encounters with youth. It can support your efforts by helping you make more informed and thoughtful decisions as you engage young people in discussions and activities. Through advice and information from Volunteers, staff, and experts, this manual will provide you with creative and innovative ideas for activities that are founded on development principles and gathered from experience throughout the world.

Sources of Donated Books for Schools and Libraries (No. RE003) is intended to help Peace Corps Volunteers and their counterparts identify organizations that might provide books and other educational materials for schools and libraries in their communities.

Engaging young people as resources is an opportunity area for host countries that overlaps with Volunteer strengths and interests in working with youth.​ This is a collection of key resources supportinng the Youth as Resources cross-sector programming priority.

The Peace Corps, in recognizing the importance of environmental education and the necessity of providing comprehensive training and support, has taken the initiative to sponsor sound and effective environmental education programming around the world. Through workshops, materials development, and collaborative efforts with other agencies and organizations in the U.S. and abroad, Peace Corps is working to make environmental education an integral part of all of its programs-from small business to agriculture to health to forestry.
