Doorways is a set of three manuals designed for teachers, students, and volunteer community counselors. Together these individuals can create a cirtical mass that brings about transformative, lasting change in both the classroom and larger community. Working at the community level is central to making schools safer and the Doorways program can be integrated into any comprehensive national or local plan to reduce gender-based violence.
Doorways II, the second manual in the series, was designed to train community members to help prevent and respond to school-related gender-based violence (SRGBV) by instructing them in basic listening skills and response procedures.
The Community Counselor Reference Material booklet is a resource that community counselors can refer back to as they seek to put into practice the new information and skills gained from the Doorways training program.
