This experiment focuses on determining the most productive environmental characteristics for diverse populations of native bees. Volunteers collect the bees found in small bowls of soapy water and send the bees to the project’s consulting scientist for identification. The expectation is that the data will reveal the best environments for diverse bee species, identify the species of bees in Volunteer sites, and with this information suggest ways of manipulating environmental factors to achieve maximum pollinator diversity.
