Kids Against Malaria is a multi-language musical project about malaria treatment and prevention, inspired by the children from the International Center of Art and Music at Ouidah (CIAMO). Kids become the voice to create awareness and promote solutions for this deadly, but treatable disease. A team of Beninoise and internationally acclaimed musicians and filmmakers worked alongside the kids of CIAMO and Grammy Award-winning musician Angelique Kidjo, to produce a multimedia musical PSA that promotes current informational and solution based content about Malaria.

I hope you will find the attached toolkit useful in your malaria programming efforts. It comes to us from Sarah DuPont, whose foundation has been working to some degree with Peace Corps in Benin for the last few years. Grammy Award-winning artist Angélique Kidjo is also a partner in their efforts. The video and song for malaria awareness that they have released is fantastic, and she hopes that we will encourage staff and PCVs to make use of this resource however they see fit. I hope you will share it as you see fit. Sarah hopes that it will be shared as far and wide as possible. We would also appreciate any feedback you might have about how Volunteers and staff use this resource. I’d encourage you to route this feedback through Matt McLaughlin as our regional malaria guru.
